About Microdermabrasion

Microdermabrasion is a revolutionary medical technique which removes the topmost layer of skin leaving it supple and vibrant. The Diamond Tome Wand removes this layer of skin by gently abrading the skin with natural diamond chips while at the same time vacuuming the dead skin cells away. Removing this outermost layer of skin leaves a smoother texture to reveal the younger, tighter, and more radiant skin underneath. Microdermabrasion using the Diamond Tome Wand is similar to particle dermabrasion and chemical peels in results but without the adverse effects of loose particles, irritation, and skin reaction. Unlike other systems, no loose crystals or other abrasives are used to contaminate you or the environment. How is DiamondTone microexfoliation different? Most microdermabrasion systems use salts, crystals, or other loose particles to scrape off skin. These particles combine with skin cells to leave a gritty residue after each treatment. Diamond Tome microexfoliation loosens and removes dead skin cells with a unique handpiece. This "wand" is made of "diamond chips" that gently remove skin cells, while at the same time vacuuming them away in a sterile, controlled manner. With this system, there is no residue or gritty particles left on your skin. The skin is clean, smooth and soft immediately after the procedure. A series of treatments given 7-10 days apart are recommended to see full results.

About Dermaplaning

Dermaplaning helps to “refinish” the skin’s top layers through a method of controlled surgical scraping. The treatment removes the dead cellular layer on the skin, resulting in a smoother, brighter appearance.

The technique is not new and is something that Japanese men and women have been doing for about 13 years. Basically, a scalpel is used to exfoliate the skin. Specific problems can be more easily targeted since this procedure uses a very small blade.

Unlike most exfoliating peel procedures, Dermaplaning uses no chemicals. However, the use of alpha hydroxyl acids may also be used for a deeper exfoliation. This treatment is known as a Micropeel. At only 20-30 minutes per session, it can be done during a “lunch break”.

The more often you do it, the better your skin will look. We advise between one and two treatments a month, for three to four consecutive months, to see the most dramatic improvement, but smooth skin is immediately apparent.

Obagi Blue Peel

Using a low concentration of Trichloracetic Acid (TCA) mixed with a special blue base to slow penetration, this peel effectively removes thin layers of aged and damaged skin from the face or other parts of the body. Exfoliated cells are replaced by healthier ones allowing the skin’s own clarity and tightness to resurface.

Trichloracetic Acid is joined by Salicylic Acid and Retinoic Acid for a potent and effective peel to address skin with moderate sun damage, acne, surface wrinkles, and uneven tone or pigment abnormalities. This TLC signature peel can be performed on the neck, chest, hands, back, arms and legs using the same technique as for the face

BioMedic MicroPeel

This 30 minute procedure with Lactic, Glycolic or Salicylic Acid is designed to refine skin texture by sloughing a micro-thin layer of dry, dead skin cells to replace surface roughness & fine dry lines with smooth, supple skin. For optimal results, Dermaplaning may be combined to remove dead cell debris by carefully scraping the skin to accelerate treatment results. There is no down time and no preparation required.

BioMedic Micropeel ~ 2% Lactic Acid

A light replenishing peel recommended for dry or sensitive skin, this peel is used to regulate sebum, dissolve dead cells and return the skin’s freshness and clarity.

BioMedic Micropeel ~ 20% or 30% Glycolic Acid

An acid peel for more rapid exfoliation, recommended for normal to oily skin. This peel helps to control oil production, decongest skin, and refines texture for all skin types.
